The Most And The Best Of 2007!

Alright alright! NOW! It is the highly anticipated entry of the year 2007 when I do all the interesting summary! Its time of the year to sum everything up with some melancholic reminiscing! OH YAY!

Let us start in a new format. This year is the award presentation!

1st TuaBehGong Is Happening Awards (2007) begins now....

FIRST UP!

The Most Hilarious Mis-pronunciation: Political APATHY by Tng Ji Xiang

I wasn't really paying attention to the GP lesson this year when the incident happened. So apparently, I was like packing my bag or finishing some work from the other subjects during Ji Xiang's group's presentation when I suddenly heard a very out of the world pronunciation and I just burst out laughing! PRONOUNCE AFTER ME: Political APPE-TEE, not Political ARPAR-TEE. And he proclaimed that somebody taught him apathy is pronounced as ARPAR-TEE. HILARIOUS LAH!

The Best Job: Zi Char 煮炒 at JJC Chemistry Science Lab

YADA YADA. Because Pei Fang has been mentioning the incident so I felt it is worth mentioning! It was a windy day and I am all prepared to go into the room and get my highest yield of crystals ever in the term. With the supervision and pressure from Dr. Gan, I am quite confident that everything can go smoothly and BE THE YIELDER! LOL. BUTBUTBUT when I was approaching the last few steps in the experiment, I suddenly had a soft hand and tilted the 50ml beaker of distilled water onto the already sizzling HOT PLATE (I can fry an egg and cook meat on the plate). And so, when cool water meets sizzling hot plate, beads of the water swirled around the hot plate and gave off the sound of the job mentioned above.

And Dr. Gan Kim Suan exclaimed: WAH! Who is cooking Zi Char there? WEI HONG HUH!

*guilty look*

The Most Panicky Moment: Breaking a tray of Chemistry lab wares before SPA starts.

Seems like most bad luck happens in the Lab eh? This goes simple. We were taught from young that when we are about to have an examination or SPA in this case, it is important to set the table well and things like that. Being the natural good boy, I tried to arrange all the apparatus properly on the bench table and kick off a good start like everyone. Then, I saw the tubing for the Bunsen Burner is totally blocking the table in my way and was an eyesore, so I decided to change it because fate is controlled by my own hands isn't it? I was already aware that I might knock down the whole tray of apparatus into the sink, so I tug at the tubing gently and caringly knowing that I will hurt it if I am too rough. LOL tug tug tug TUG! The release of the tubing from the protruding metal piece is so great that my hand flew too far and hit the tray and WAH LAH. Broke almost everything in the tray and this one incident has the amount of breakage more than everyone's add together in the 2 years. Goodness gracious me. Dr. Gan was totally out of the world that day too.

She walked to me, said never mind and asked me to change a bench and I didn't have to pay a single cent for all the breakages. COOL!

The Most Disappointing Performance Watched: NDP Show Segment @ Marina

Unsuitable music, poor cameramen, same standard of performance, and the conceptualising of the entire Show Segment can be done more detailed lah. I am jus a little disappointed lor.

The Most Creative Performance Watched: Anyhow Art? By CDAA @ People's Association, Kallang

The Best Performances Watched: Singapore Youth Festival 2007 (Dance)

As usual. I find the strength and grit from the people OF ABOUT MY AGE very inspiring. They enter secondary school innocently, fall into love with dance, endure the hardship during the days practising dance, practise for SYF, get nervous for SYF, put in their everything into that 5 mins on stage, cry over the results, fall into a deeper love with dance.

The Best Backstage Work Done: Anyhow Art? By CDAA @ People's Association

What can I say? Didn't really expect myself to hand myself into such a role actually. Enjoyed the time using the walkie talkie and all. Most of all, I got to know my juniors like Benedict and Liang Yuan which is precious chance. Interesting experience lah. really.

The Most Enjoyable Examination: CSTD Sub - Elementary Ballet Exams

The pure interest in Ballet makes everything more enjoyable ba. HAHA. Although results fall short of expectation. zzz. The barre is my home, now.

The Most Neck-Breaking Movie Watched: Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End

First time in my life I got to sit in the front row in Golden Village - Plaza Singapura. I was almost at the end of my world.

The Best Snubbed Moment: Rejection By Ms Lai Peck Chai

GAHH! No Econs Relief work. Dreams dashed. DAMMIT.

The Best Hawker Cuisine: Tanglin Halt Western Food @ Clementi Hawker Centre

The Best Snack Eaten: Cream Puffs by Beard Papa

The Best Hotel Food Eaten: The Amara Sanctuary @ Sentosa

Because I have only went to one hotel/resort this year, which is Amara.

The Best Canteen Food Eaten: Western Stall @ Nan Hua High School

The Most Disgusted Moment: Molestation by Old Gays

No need for further explanation. The experience is chilling.

The Most Amazing Moment: 7 Person Alliance Thrashed By Wong Jian Wei in Monopoly @ Settlers' Cafe

I can't believe it.

That 42km!

I just came back from the Sec 4 dancers' 3D2N chalet and I really LOVED IT! Let me try to recall all the details and fun stuff, though I am sorry to say that there is a total lack of photos. Didn't really figured out the reason why nobody brought a camera along. LOL.

Day 1 - 26/12/2007

Meet Andrew, Chee Yew, Junhe at Clementi Central to buy the 'equipment' (according to my distant relative) for the BBQ at night in the afternoon. I was late again and Junhe was nice enough not to play arcade with Andrew and Chee Yew to wait for me at the bus stop for me! Walked to NTUC to get the BBQ equipment then Andrew said White Sands NTUC also sell the same stuff so its more sensible to get the things there so we dun have to lug things there. We wanted lunch so we settle for the cheaper hawker! No Tanglin Halt, so I settled for famous porridge stall which I believe the standard is dropping. Less tastier, longer waiting time. Andrew ate pig trotters, Chee Yew ate something that I forgot and Junhe ate chicken rice like yet again! Junhe and I were totally pissed by the dumb sugarcane stall prostitue-lookalike AUNTIE because she didn't tell us beforehand that adding lemon cost the same for students! Freaking 20 cents! Brought my Bata slippers and got onto train. Onwards to Pasir Ris! (We were running late)

Chat alot and explored Junhe's iPod Touch. Shana smsed me went we were reaching Pasir Ris and we only realised we were all on the same train then! Met up with many Sec 4 dancers like Mafia Sister GraceFUL (my another distant relative), Meiting, Audrey, Jeanette, Jeslyn, Yinghui, Weng Mann, Xing Yue. They went to get the chalet keys first while we get our BBQ equipment. Found the NTUC in the basement and we frantically looking for items with the Housebrand sign coz we get a freaking 5% discount which make things cheaper. I was like wondering why we buy new BBQ equipement stuff coz I think there should be people with these stuff already. Then Junhe told me we can leave it for the next user of the BBQ pit. I thought if everyone in singapore practises this habit then we can save money for ourselves and others!

Reached the chalet and got to know what Junhe looks out for in his 'dream' girlfriend! Poker was already hot in action by the time we got there and we immediately got down to our Mahjong action too! (I offered my mahjong, Andrew and Chee Yew lug it there :D). Stupid Junhe who claims he suck at Mahjong won like 4 times in a row (partly thanks to Andrew who kept feeding tiles) and our Northern Wind never ended in the end. Felt guilty about not helping out in the BBQ downstairs and so I went down to help out with the food. I FORGOT TO WASH HAND! Perhaps that's why Junhe got active bowels at night. Played alot of poker games such as Dai dee, Bridge and Cheat. I totally sucked at Cheat because I can;t help but to giggle laugh whenver I put down a card. LOL! Junhe brought along his Good Luck Chuck DVD because we thought we will be going over to Chee Yew's for the 2nd overnight. In the end the girls realised about the DVD and wanted to watch the DVD. Its R21 with sex scenes, dammit. How to watch with the girls. In the end we still watched the DVD because the girls know there will be sex scenes and still dun mind watching. Watched the DVD with the sex scenes on the Monkey Bar and on the bed fast-forwarded to save the embarrassment. I think that R21 movies have a lousy story line somehow. Actually Good Luck Chuck can be made into a good movie by removing the sex scenes and making the touching parts more pronounced.

Many slept for the remaining few hours except for Junhe because he have his dance practice at NJC later and he dunwan to miss the good times while Chee Yew and I went to find the MIA people. Turned out that Grace, Meiting and Yu Jie were having their own Poker session at a pavilion and we chatted with them. By coincidence, Cheew Yew and Meiting kept becoming partners in Bridge while GraceFUL paired with Octopi Yu Jie. I almost fell asleep on the bench when Junhe and some other sec 4 guys passed by to go Mac for some breakfast before Junhe leaves for NJC and he looked so darn unwilling lah! TOo bad he is already tied down by the DSA contract so he got to commit.

Day 2 - 27/12/2007

The 5 of us too ended the poker game soon after and we went to Mac for breakfast too! Was really considering going to NJ again with Junhe since he will be alone on the trip there. In the end didn't go with my relative because of an unknown reason. I think I was tired enough to not think straight. My mind was like thinking about Junhe, Mac breakfast, sleeping at NJ, etcetc. SO I am really sorry Junhe for not accompanying you!

Went back to Chalet and sent Junhe a sms full of 'dun oversleep's. At least it managed to keep Junhe awake for some time and he didn't oversleep! Those in the chalet tried to get some sleep to utilise the money paid for the room. We discussed about staying for the 2nd night but dumb Downtown East and even the Alohas are fully booked! In the end settled for Island Resort at East Coast Park, the successor of Costa Sand. Before we get to Island Resort, we indulged in Escape! Tickets were much cheaper at 7 bucks because of the accident in Panasonic ride. The first ride was the turning thing which I can't remember the name but it was exceptionally short. 2nd ride was rainbow. The view from the top was as good as ever. Then common sense went wrong and we played the Wet & Wild game next. Got totally drenched and was crowned the Wettest Guy there. Everyone else except Chee Yew, Jeanette and me played the Inverter. The Guys then tried to play the Go Cart but the waiting time is like an hour so we ended up getting hooked with the Family Coaster thing. A mini roller coaster but I think the feeling was as fun! Played the Carnival Racing Game and got 2 Octopus as prize. LOL I thought it was a total scam though. We left Escape and illegally sold all our complimentary tickets at 6 dollars! An entrepreneurial idea by GraceFUL!

Met Junhe again at Bedok MRT and he was a little pissed becasue he had to wait 20 mins to us to reach there! Lunched at Bedok Hawker and everybody was already tired and getting more irritable in their tone! Some left and the rest continued our day at Island Resort! Everyone immediately fell into lalaland while Junhe and I chatted about alot of lame things until the rest were starting to wake up for washup and dinner! Dined at Subway and rented bikes. Chu Harn and Chee Yew were complaining how expensive and unfilling Subway is. Its really once in a while that we will dine at Subway so forget it ok! Quickly returned to the chalet room because some wanted to watch The Golden Road on Channel 8. Left the Chalet at 10pm and we prepared for the night-blasting 42km bicycle ride through the new Park Connector Network (PCN). Junhe and I were already hyped up with the thought of being able to see transvestites real life! We began the ride at 1030 pm and not much idea of what to expect from the trip.

We crossed the underpass to the opposite side of the Expressway and found the first Park Connector. We dunno travelled how many Park Connectors and kilometers to reach the first 'Pitstop' at Bedok Reservoir. The trip was hard impressionable to write down details here. Only remembered I saw words like Bedok, Siglap, Tampines, Pasir Ris along the way. Sang like nobody's business becasue we were so into Bei Pan, Xing Bu Liao Qing and Goodbye, My Love. Ran into problems with the erratic PCN instructions after arriving at Pasir Ris because we lost the arrow which shows the directions to go. Trial and errored a few times before we reached Changi Village and the PCN Line was broken badly at Changi area because we see no path along the chalets there! reached Changi Village at about 3.40 plus 4 and we saw a transvestite immediately! Chee Yew didn't get a good look and kept looking back. Missed the opening to the Hawker centre and stopped at a junction. Then, Chee Yew's horror came alive when a cab full of transvestites stopped beside us and the ladies were like doing alot of slutty actions which traumatised Chee Yew until he lost his appetite.

Everyone was already feeling darn tired and hungry with a painful butt that tempers are all rising! Settled for Indian cuisine and left at 4 plus. Continued on the PCN which led us to the back of the Singapore International Changi Airport which was busy even at the night. Our butts were even more painful after the break and we all wished we could teleport back to the chalet.

Then Si Ian. LOL!

Day 3 - 28/12/2007

FINALLY!

We completed the freaking butt-smashing 42km bicycle ride! A total sense of accomplishment and tiredness and the feeling was very good! The feeling of doing something with your good friends rocks socks!

We reached at 6 and I saw the news about Benazir Bhutto being assasinated. And then everyone and I fell asleep. Woke up at 9.30am and bathed and prepared to check out lo! Ate brunch at Burger King. Tired souls started leaving East Coast and left my relatives, Meiting and Chee Yew and we started crapping and gossipping!

I really enjoyed myself thoroughly at the chalet not only because I got 2 relatives there, but also because I find people there are much more simpler than other people that I hang out with. And thats why I feel more comfortable and at ease with them. I can shout and scream, do stupid things and let them see my unglam look when I wake up and I know everyone is still the same them! Of course there are problems lying beneath but I think it is much simpler and its actually not much of a problem. That is also why I want to make time to go the chalet, because many will certainly change once they enter JC life and I want to experience their character or feeling the myriad of characters produces before they change.

Sometimes meeting up with people less involved in dance is a blessing because it will lack an element of competitiveness which makes me feel much more at ease. Though they are the so-called 'forgotten batch' as according to them, I find a stronger sense of values learnt from dance in them like looking after one another, unity etcetc. No craps such as dance techniques, jealousy, competitiveness and attention seeking, just pure love for fun, understanding for one another and altruism. Even the problems we met during the 3 days are innocent and simple.

I really hope we can meet up again soon and even after you guys enter JC, though you all will be busy enough. And I am missing everyone's crappiness, especially my darling JUNHE!

And I really will miss that pure innocence from everybody, because so many people has lost it.

Busy Week of AnyHow Art?!

HELLO GUYS!

Advertorial

The Chinese Dance Artistes' Association (CDAA)

proudly presents

Dancing in Unity 鹤舞共鸣 2008

What comes to your mind when you hear 'chinese dance'? Old-fashioned music? Long sleeves? or something you wouldn't even dare to think of? Once in a while, everybody needs to have a paradigm shift in your sterotype of chinese dance. Now, CDAA no longer only produces works to do with chinese dance only. As we try to retain our values of the chinese culture, we also look for ways to improve ourselves and fuse chinese dance techniques into other dance genres. Though the programme lineup is still unconfirmed, I personally think that Dancing in Unity has not failed to impress its audience each time CDAA organises it.

Really glad that Any How Art? performance by CDAA ended off smoothly yesterday night! and my crew members must have been tired like some very tired people. LOL of course, we are happy that we have put in our 100% for the success of the event and we will live without guilt and regret. We fought against the weather with chilli, space with sheer hardwork, roads with barefoots, money with white piece of paper, failure with precious time. And this makes me happy, because Anyhow Art? is again successful. Personally I think that AnyHow Art? is a daring production because it is right smacked in the monsoon season and the event is an outdoor one. Brushing aside the fact that there were no profits like most other art performances, there was a larger crowd this year and a better coordination by my crew of course. Though we did encounter some unhappy things and I was guilty for indirectly causing Benedict Loh Jia Da's injury yesterday, everything still went off rather smoothly.

So, I am really sorry Benehneh!

Oh Yah! I think it has been a long time since I went out with my JC classmates, so if you are seeing this, do inform me when u guys are going out!! Because you all might get your new jobs soon!

GAHH! Nothing really interesting to write for my NEW ADVERTISEMENT FROM NUFFNANG! Ivy you can consider the phone being advertised now! It will be showing from 9 December to 15 December so do visit here everyday!

I can smell lame posts coming up!
