A Prelim Exam Post-Mortem

HELLO!

Shall start the entry right with the right mood and attitude! I believe this entry will end up being gloomy and pessimistic. We shall see to that!

Lets start from my preparations for this Prelim exams ba! (I feel so weird blogging about myself) Snail-paced revisions began under JJ de revision programme which after so long really made me feel that it is rather inefficient to people like me. More often than not, I need to choose between either Chemistry or Biology revision to prepare for next day's lessons because either one will take up a night (I am snail-paced myself). On the other hand, the tutors expect us to have almost covered all the topics if we follow closely with their programme, which i agree we will.

After the 10-week revision programme by the college, we are thrown into the unanimously-agreed-upon study period which i find it more effective under the companionship with 93.3 FM. This made me think of an alternative for JJ. Give us all the revision packages c/w answers. Free up excess curriculum time. = more self revision. We can approach our tutors if in doubt. This is further due to certain ineffective tutors who waste precious time which we can convert into self study. So in the 1 week of self study, I would say i only managed to cover a quarter of the entire syllabuses. By that Sunday, I was truly a regretful kid.

Being so used to having 8 hours of sleep during the one week, the actual exam week is torturous. I was deeply in need of some beauty sleep. I wonder what happened to me during the GP paper. Essay argument was written in a very weihong style with a handwriting that I never saw before. but being obsessed with that, I forgot to constantly remind myself to input the redundant but still-very-important examples, examples that I only remember after the paper itself. Worse of all, I chose an expectedly popular question. With an absence of examples to strengthen the dumb essay, I can expect my tutor face. For the first week, I was very unfamiliar with the exam conditions which I don't know why. Perhaps its the insufficient sleep. Out of 5 papers that week, I only managed to finish 1 or arguably 2 papers on time. The second week was better, unsure if its due to easier papers of familiarity with the exam conditions. Chemistry MCQs are as usual a rush for life. Plus, I will never forget that conversation that remarked my work as 'got no depth/substance'.

I shall save all results prediction to myself because I am rather uncertain about what come may. Though many say that there is nothing much to worry about because this is only the Prelims, I keep in mind that I am not as intelligent as those who can succeed with minimal hard work, nor I had put in much hard work in the past. I am those who need to put in that extra ounce of hard work in order not to get mediocre results. Thus I need to put in that extra extra ounce of sheer determination to get above mediocre results. PSLE by my standard is good, O level by my standard is disastrous.

The redundancy of the A level system is that we are still using up time to study on subjects that will be rarely of use in time to come for university work. That's precious time. The advantage of the system is that when we put up 1 best student from 2 countries, student from Singapore will most likely shine in terms of our breadth of knowledge.

I have always felt that I only need to pass this stage to do what I like to do in the future, so I should not let this be a tripping stone to my journey nor let it distribute my share of comeuppance. Now I am motivated, please let me fight on.

Anyway, I shall dish out my new overhauled blog layout ASAP. Negative public comments on new blog layout are to be ignored entirely.

I REALLY dunno who she is! (Part II)

After investigating the information provided by some very reliable sources, the TUABEHGONG Laboratory has ONCE AGAIN found evidence to provide you loyal readers with GROUNDBREAKING NEWS!

If you are drinking water, STOP! If you haven't shit for the past few days, STOP! DO NOT watch the newest evidence provided by me because I am sure you WILL spit your water and lau all over your pants with sai.

It is very important that the Part I of the entry is read first.
(Click on the words 'Part I')

Now, to further affirm my previous conclusion, I bring you the most convincing evidence that can ever be used: Video.

While waiting for the video to load, please read below to know where are the important parts to note, unless you are interested in such TV serial with ancient and cliche storyline.

You must be thinking why this video of the never-made-it-big TV show. You wil know why this video is super important after 4min 50 sec.

Visually, after 4min 50sec, you can see clearly on her that it is really her who took part in the 1999 Star Search. It might also provide a reason why she is like that now, since in the show, she was the 3rd party. It was definitely a commendable attempton TV Ms Ng!!

Another must watch part to prove that it is her is at 14min 53sec, when a woman meets up with her in the CBD area. (Hint: note for a difference between something) Do watch all the way until the woman left her. They have interesting lines.

Therefore, I believe that I have convinced myself and you that the 2nd Runner-up is her.

Case CLOSED *STAMP*

I believe I can win a Nobel Prize for always providing breathtaking information that makes you shrivel in size. Where's the applause that I deserve?

My Fav!!

HELLO EVERYBODY!!!! *WAVES*

I really recommend all the shows that Ouyang Zheng Hua acts in, like the Forensic Heroes on Channel 55 at 9 o'clock! Besides his superb acting and cuteness, he is always lucky to get good storylines to act in. Remember to watch!

Anyway, while I was watching today's episode about the child abuse and brick case(yah... I know it sounds rather cliche topics...), I was munching on something so delicious that most probably it can turn the show into something even more than just be interesting.

I felt like I attained nirvana!

Maybe I should give more hints than just saying it was heavenly, although I believe that description itself is enough to let you know what I was eating!

It is cute looking
It has 2 golden sides
It tastes like milk powder
If you put your ear close to them, you can hear them screaming for me to eat them :D

Got it??

No??

Oh MAN! If you still do not know what is this god-like food, its....

HURRY UP AND BOW! WE PRAISE YOU!! *throws my wrist in the air like how the North Koreans do to their leaders*

It is the legendary (like me) SMALL BUNS!!

All the debate about the dangerous of accepting Chinese goods seem to be cordoned from this food product. And the good thing is JJC Kbox sells this (after begging the Xiao Jie to continue selling). I know I know, you secondary school students must be very tempted to enter JJC just for it right!! I KNEW IT! HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!

Anyway, I also really recommend this merit good. After I graduate from the university, I shall appeal and work hard to make this into a public good, then you will never be able to run away from it :D

Another thing that attracts me to this food is the always happy Wang Wang! Eat already also happy happy!

See? He looks so happy! And there are many types of packaging for it. Some is him playing soccer, some is him singing like the one above. And the packaging comes in orange, blue, green and many more! It really a handy snack not to be missed!

Remember to try it out ok?

Just look at how delicious it looks. *floods*

Where's money then?

Sat for the lecture on Seminal Theories and Ideas by humourous JJC senior GP tutor Mr Chan.

I really felt that the lecture should be included into our content packs and not as a supplementary lessons and certainly should be taught earlier!! The reason is very simple: We need time to practise their uses.

Anyway, when I sat through the lecture on the part on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, I kept flipping in my head thinking that there must be something missing from the things included and I have finally found out about it.

Where is the position of MOOLAH in the Maslow's pyramid??

Weird isn't it? But I gathered that it is very subjective to place money on any of the 5 levels of the pyramid.

One interesting to note is that in one of his research, he found out that when our diet lacks the food for eg Vitamin C, we will automatically crave for food that will contain Vitamin C by instinct. Hence this might explain the cravings that pregnant ladies always have.
