Future Division Performance by SSA

Note: SSA = Singapore Soka Association

So after the horrendous polyclinic experience, I met up with Shana, her sister and big nose to the faraway land of Tampines to watch a performance by Singapore Soka Association.


I noticed a lady wearing quite a tattered brown t-shirt standing behind me when we baorded the train at Clementi. She was looking at our group with a weird stare and I didnt bother about her. (Note: I was wearing a shirt with a 17 behind). So we were gossipping, laughing and doing dumb stuff on the train until we reached Tanah Merah where we managed to find seats for ourselves. Strangely this brown woman followed us, ok, followed me to where we sat because she apparently got a secret to share with me.

So she started blabbering about people who killed her parents and that they were anti-females and that they make use of people(including principals, teachers, female students), ghosts, invisible people to harm males like me and she said the female students were of age like Shana and big nose (then they stunned). So I just nod my head knowing that poor me had met a nutcase, most probably a victim who cannot withstand the pressure of the Singaporean society. She then said that she was not afraid of the people who killed her parents and she is waiting in public for them to find her and that they are actually on the train at the seats opposite me (then the 2 ladies opposite me stared at her -.-).

She started to get a bit agitated and I took out my phone and wanted to sms big nose but I was worrying if the sms could get to her before the next stop. but clever big nose managed to sense that I wanted to tell her something and she peeped at my phone and saw the sms i typed. So we managed to leave the train at Simei as though we were heading there.

I really cant believe my luck today.


So we reached SSA and waited for a good 30 minutes before they start their prayers that last 15 minutes adn the MCs asked the friends of SSA to bear with them. LOL! I am kinda amazed by the mega cupboard on the stage because the one I saw before was a much smaller versionThe performance started with a girl in search for her own happiness in the world and she slept on her desktop and dreamt. Then she saw many of her friends leading a joyful life portrayed by them singing and dancing happily. Alot of hiphop and singing and a live band and thats about it. Got a few have quite good vocals and thats about it.

What I really realise about SSA is that the members are most always very enthu about everything the organisor does for them. Like hearing them cheering the loudest when the Chairman of the NDP 2006 asked if they were ready for the show. Perhaps what I always believe is true ba. That people with a belief can use it to release their worldly worries and do their very best in the things they do and they really did well during NDP 2006. Their formations were very good.

And so the little girl realised that happiness is in everything she is doing and that she should enjoy what she is doing now to seek true happiness. A buddhist teaching i guess.


I will remain a freethinker, praying at temples at churches at mosques as I wish because to me, sometimes it may become a burden at my age. At hand, maybe I am having too many things that people at my age wouldnt have but I believe what I am doing now is definitely worth it :)
