Quest by SDT and SCO
Finally had some time for me to take a breather after the whole week of helping Laoshi out at some schools.

Miraculously I found myself stuck on the seats of the Esplanade theatre on Friday(1/6/2006) night after Da Jie couldnt attend the opening ceremony with Laoshi and Jieyim and Yong Xuan. So the 3 of us excluding Laoshi met up first and went over to the Esplanade to see all the buzz. Found many well-known figures of the arts scene in Singapore, e.g Mrs Goh Lay Kuan, Mrs Neila etc.
Noobs in Esplanade = lost, so we were trying to find out where our entrance is then I saw someone legandary!!!!! MR SR NATHAN!!!!! LOL!!!! I was like looking around then OH, Nathan come already with the totally I-expected-it-and-very-familiar-with-him tone. Da Jie told us that our tickets could get us something to eat and drink so when we reached the reception area, there was RED CARPETS!!!! WOOO!!! Thought we were like so IMPORTANT because we were invited there after all. Then there was like placards: For media and invited guests. HMMM
The excited us went straight through the tickets checking place and up the escalator. The Esplanade staff were so polite can?? Until I like so not used to it. HOWEVER, we realised that we were hungry and the time watching the performance will be suffering so we went out of the place with the help of one of the Esplanade staff out of the tickets zone, through the opposite direction of the red carpet -.- People go in we go out then we were like caught having no tickets liddat... ZZZZ...
We reached Gluttons' Bay in a jiffy and saw Goh Lay Kuan's daughter there with her daughter and some other people from Practice Theatre whom Yong Xuan knew. The goodness of being more exposed to professionals, like Hann Bin also know quite some people from SDT. We chiong the food and quickly went back to the theatre to find Laoshi and our seats.
The dances really requires one to think through about before really getting the meaning behind the dances. Reading the sypnosis is also quite important because it actually maybe seems different to each individual. I find that the dances are not in coherent to SCO's music as like our dances in SYF. So meaning that the music by SCO is just an bring over, or in an ugly way of expressing, just to make the dances more interesting. There also seems to have no emphasis to be neat in their actions. So in a certain way, I think some SYF dances are better than the dances. Apparently many people found that the world premiere was boring because many left after the 2nd dance. There wasnt many people left to see Jeffrey Tan's item. Although the 3 dances were by 3 choreographers of different countries, there wasnt really much of a difference in the style. There was alot more thoughts actually, but i cant remember alot as I watched the 1st June's performance.
Really felt that it was good exposure, not only being able to see alot of the long-heard-of people but also able to see whats going on in the professional dance arena. TIme for me to upgrade skills lo. Too lan :(
